Mike Vreeland, President of the Bridge Foundation, joins Trent and Patrick for today’s show.  The Bridge Foundation was started in 2003 and is a local nonprofit focused on networking and philanthropy.  Each year, the foundation awards a local high school student with the Bridge Scholarship.  To date, they have given over $320,000 in scholarship money to 16 recipients and have a 100% college graduation rate.   Ethan Kim, 2020 recipient of the Bridge Scholarship and freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill, also joins the conversation.  After being deferred by Harvard last December, Ethan created his “Harvard Please Let Me In” rap video to get the university’s attention.  While the video didn’t get him accepted into Harvard, it did get the attention of the Bridge Foundation and 1.4 million viewers!  As the video shows, Ethan is passionate about performing and hopes to have a career in the entertainment industry someday.    Check out Ethan’s video here. 

Eric Burg, President & CEO of Apple Rock, returns to the show to share how his business took a complete 180 degree turn when COVID-19 brought the event and tradeshow business to a screeching halt.  As Eric watched all of his exhibits being taken down during a tradeshow in Las Vegas on March 4th, he knew the world was changing before his eyes.  With a quick call to his CFO, the company took immediate action and pivoted into the PPE business.  Today they produce everything from isolation gowns, face shields and masks, and personal protection barriers to FDA Registered and EUA approved COVID-19 Rapid Tests.  If you look closely around Charlotte, you just might see our employees sporting their Roby Family of Companies gaiters thanks to Eric and his team!   

Tyler Easterling, President of The Brandon Agency, joins Trent and Patrick in the studio.  The Brandon Agency is an advertising and marketing firm with offices in Charlotte, Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Orlando.  They specialize in research, brand development, creative development, media plans and buys, web design, website search engine optimization, blogs, content, social media and more.  With a staff ranging in age from college interns to 82, they have the smarts on board to help their clients build their brands, communicate their messages and grow. 

Sean Hogan calls in from sunny St. Augustine, Florida to share his landscape lighting tips for Trent’s home and yard.  Sean is an exterior illumination expert with NiteLites and an expert surfer.  Tune in to learn exterior lighting tips for your home, with a few surfing tips along the way.

Trent and Patrick welcome Sandy Thomas into the studio.  Sandy sold Trent his first rental property back in 2004.  From that sale, a solid business relationship and friendship was established.  Fast forward to today and Sandy is President and Broker in Charge for Roby Realty.  Tune in to “meet” Sandy and learn how COVID-19 is shaping the residential and commercial real estate markets this summer and fall.  

Trent and Patrick welcome William Reardon with Reliable Services into the studio.  Reliable Services offers plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry services all under one roof.  William started the company out of his garage back in 2005.  While he ran a service truck, his wife managed the office and scheduling.  They soon outgrew the garage and added more people and trucks to their fleet.  Tune in to learn more about their growth and successes over the years.
